Slow Down

The thought is quite touching. Dakota is generous; truly a sweet child. He often explains to me about his plans when he "grows up." "Aunty Foofa I can't wait to grow up I will help my family with everything." "Aunty Foofa when I grow up I will get a cool car."  "Being a grown up will be so cool." All the thoughts are more than sweet but this makes me recall my childhood. I remember as a child growing up was often on my mind. Much like Dakota responsibility was something that I yearned for now at the age that I am I see adulthood is something that is not as quite fun as it is cut out to be. The struggle of juggling A.P classes and going to work for what seems to be endless hours is all quite difficult, But it is all for a good purpose. Helping my family is something I love to do but, there is no doubt that I would much rather live life as I did when I was a child; simple, creative, no worries, childhood was amazing. I guess the thing I didn't see when I was younger was that life isn't free much like any child I did not understand the concept of money. as far I was concerned one dollar made me "rich." I now see the actual value of a dollar. I now see that growing up can wait. I now see the value of childhood.
